McCarthy hails win against 'tough' City

Mick McCarthy was a happy man after seeing his side take three points from Saturday's game against Coventry City.

'That's our best win, that's a tough win against a tough side. We had to win and we've done it,' he said after Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's disputed winner.

'I saw the players on Friday and we've had four of five away on international duty until Thursday - Carlos (Edwards) only got back on Friday.

'It's easy to lose on a day like today. With all the players we've had out through injury and suspension, it doesn't help the cause.

'Coventry could feel aggrieved they haven't got a point out of it but that's the way it is - we've won ugly.'
