Championship: 8pm transfer deadline update

East Anglian rivals Ipswich and Norwich have both been in the transfer market on the final day of the window.

Sheffield United striker Jon Stead has moved to Portman Road on loan with a view to a permanent deal while the Canaries have snapped up Middlesbrough defender Jonathan Grounds on a three-month loan.

Southampton have signed Romain Gasmi from French side RC Strasbourg on loan for the season while a similar deal has taken another French midfielder, Nicolas Sarin to Plymouth Argyle.
