Can £20m Keane repeat debut heroics?

Robbie Keane completed the 5th big-money move of his career this week, joining Liverpool for £20.3m.

His total transfer value is now nearly £60m, £20m of which involved the Sky Blues.

Keane was wanted by Aston Villa after bursting onto the scene at Wolves but it was Coventry, determied at the time to show their ambition, who matched the £6m valuation on the teenager's head.

A home debut against Derby County in August 1999 gave Keane an immediate chance to impress and he let no-one down, scoring twice to delight the fans, especially those who took advantage of the 6/1 on offer for first goalscorer available in the Highfield Road betting outlets!

Keane ended the season with 12 league goals in a Sky Blue shirt and a short-lived £13m move to Inter Milan.
