Canaries step up transfer activity

Coventry City kick-off the new season at home to Norwich and will be facing a Canaries side set for a busy few weeks of transfer activity.

Takeover talk at Carrow Road limited Glenn Roeder's early summer business but in the past few days he has been linked with players such as Dejan Stefanovic of Fulham and Fiorentina striker Arturo Lupoli.

'I think it will be a busy couple of days,' said Roeder, quoted on the BBC Sport website.

'Some of the transfers that will happen in the next week or so have been ongoing for five or six weeks.

'It's been very slow going I have to say. It's quite ridiculous really, but that's the nature of the business now.

'It will continue right up till the week before the season starts for us at Coventry.'

They have to replace Huckerby somehow. Bet they are missing the parachute payments by now.
