City interest is 'news' to Owls boss

Sheffield Wednesday will not encourage any interest in centre-half Richard Wood amid newspaper stories suggesting Coventry City are keen.

Owls boss Brian Laws is not prepared to sell the highly-rated youngster who will form a key part of his plans for next season.

'It's news to me,' said Laws when asked by the Sheffield Star newspaper about interest from the Ricoh Arena.

He is such an unbelievably good player, as is owls' Tommy Spurr, and I would take both of them any day at Ipswich.
