'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dowie set to enjoy QPR riches

Iain Dowie, sacked as Coventry City manager earlier in the year, is ready for the challenge of working for some of the world's richest men after taking over at QPR.

'My first thoughts of being manager at the club with the richest owners in the world is 'wonderful', it's better to be that, than at the poorest,' said the man who was somewhat starved of transfer funds during his time at the Ricoh Arena.

'I'm delighted to be back, it's a great club historically.

'I think in terms of fan base and tradition it's a proper football club and these are exciting times.'

Certainly are exciting times, and I'm delighted to have Dowie on board.

A lot of pressure on him at Qpr, if they are going to splash the cash they will want instant returns.
