'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wolves boss hails Schmeichel

Mick McCarthy praised his side's second-half display at Coventry City on Saturday and rued Kasper Schmeichel's vital late save.

'We were terrific in the second half and we could have won it at the death,' he said.

'But how many times have we heard 'fabulous by Schmeichel' before, although that was normally when we were talking about his dad.

'I am not a gambling man and I don't do odds, but if we win next week then we give ourselves a chance of making the play-offs.

'Everyone will be nervy next week and there's two teams who can slip up, but we've got to win, if we don't, it's over.'
