Non-league star linked with City

The transfer rumours are starting to begin in earnest as the season draws to a close and Coventry City have been linked with Oxford United's versatile defender Luke Foster.

The 22-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday youngster, who can also play in midfield, was recently crowned as both the Supporters' and Players' Player of the Year at the Blue Square Premier club.

Foster is a decent player, just winning the players, player and fans player of the season. since gaining a regular place Uniteds defence has looked very good (shame about the rest of the team) he possibly the only united player capable of making such a jump. would be a decent punt IMO.

Certainly seems to be the way Cov are thinking nowadays, promising younger players from the lower leagues.

obviously he would be a gamble, but he wouldnt cost a huge fee I would guess 200-250k max, which would be a steal. he looks comfortable at conference level and is easily a couple of levels above. the fact he won the two player of the year awards is all the more outstanding is that he hardly played for the first 3 mths as previous manager jim smith didnt play him, critisising his attitude, since JS moved upstairs, he has been a first choice and the defence has looked oxfirds only solid area.
