City keen on freed defender

Cork City will be in the running to sign Colin Hawkins this summer if the centre-half opts for a return to Ireland.

Hawkins, currently on loan at Chesterfield, has been told he will be leaving Coventry City at the end of the season.

Cork boss Alan Mathews told the Irish Sun: "We would be interested if he decides to come home.

'I`m aware he`s been released but he is looking at his options in England."
