The relegation run-in (1)

With Colchester United and Scunthorpe looking likely to drop into League One at the end of the season, six teams are realistically playing to avoid joining them.

Barnsley: The FA Cup semi-finalists have two games in hand on three of the other teams and a game in hand on Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday due to their giant-killing exploits but fell into the drop zone at the weekend.

They have away trips to Watford and Preston this week before entertaining Hull City next Tuesday and relegation rivals Leicester a few days later.

The Tykes season is rounded off with a home game against Charlton and a rematch against their cup foes Cardiff at Ninian Park.

Sheffield Wednesday: The Owls have a game in hand on three of the other sides around them and it comes on Tuesday night as they make the short trip to face Sheffield United.

Wednesday also have to play Leicester at the Walkers Stadium after a home game with Plymouth and a trip to Blackpool.

The season ends with Norwich City coming to Hillsborough.

Leicester City: Ian Holloway's side have two home games and two away games left to avoid the drop.

Colchester at home this weekend will be seen as a must-win game before a trip to Barnsley and a home game against another relegation rival Sheffield Wednesday.

The Foxes season ends with an away game at Stoke City.
