Freed players get chance to impress

A healthy contingent of scouts can be expected at Coventry City's reserve team game with Port Vale on Tuesday afternoon.

Colin Hawkins, Arjan De Zeeuw, Michael Hughes, Ellery Cairo, Stuart Giddings, Liam Davis, Wayne Andrews and Lee Hildreth will all be looking to impress after being told they will not get new Sky Blues' deals in the summer.

A host of Irish clubs are thought to be keen on Hawkins, De Zeeuw has been linked with Barnsley and Sheffield United and Walsall are said to be lining up a loan deal for wideman Andrews.

***Update***The watching scouts will have been impressed with a 5-0 City win, Hughes, De Zeeuw and Andrews all scoring.
