Sky Blues free eight

Chris Coleman has begun shaping his own Coventry City squad by releasing eight players.

Arjan De Zeeuw, Michael Hughes, Ellery Cairo, Wayne Andrews, Colin Hawkins, Lee Hildreth, Liam Davis and Stuart Giddings will not be offered new contracts.

Deals are on the table for Andy Marshall, Marcus Hall, Stephen Hughes and Danny Ireland with David McNamee needing to prove his fitness before getting an offer.

Can't really argue with any of them. Hopefully that is the last we see of signings like De Zeeuw and Hughes.

Davis may be a touch unlucky but a big clear out is needed. Signings like Dann and Fox have to be the way forward.
