What became of 'the new Pele'?

Highfield Road, then home of Coventry City, was one of the many stopping off points of Nii Lamptey, dubbed 'the new Pele' after his displays in the Under-17 World Cup of 1991.

Lamptey's appearances with the Sky Blues in the mid-1990's were few, enlivened only by a sumptuous League Cup against Hull City, but his story is an amazing one, if only for sad reasons.
