Chris Coleman got an early taste of the inconsistency that has infuriated Coventry City fans and managers alike over the years after seeing his new side lose 2-0 at Burnley on Tuesday night.

Chris McCann and Steven Caldwell scored for the home side to leave the Sky Blues closer to the relegation zone after Preston's win over leaders Stoke City.

Saturday's game at bottom side Scunthorpe United now takes on extra significance for City.
